Plot[]

Part One: Abi is wracked with guilt for driving Roy away from his family and friends. Leanne and Nick pay their respects to Oliver on the anniversary of his death. The dealer returns in the morning and repeats his offer of free spice to Kelly. Jacob Hay sends him packing and warns Kelly not to accept. Stu appears and recognising Jacob, orders him to sling his hook. Kelly is happy that he's come back after their argument. Daisy receives some children's clothes in the post and explains to Jenny that the company saw her pictures of Bertie and assumed she's an influencer. Stu goes into the cafe and begs Nina to give Kelly a break, but Nina remains unforgiving. Debbie encourages Kevin to take Abi away on a honeymoon, offering to take Jack in for the duration. Aggie tears a strip off Grace for treating her and Ed like unpaid babysitters. Grace suggests that she wouldn't go out so much if her house was more comfortable. Stu admits to Kelly that he went to see Nina but didn't get anywhere with her. In despair, Kelly dials the number the dealer wrote down for her and orders some spice.

Part Two: Nick and Leanne let Sam play with Jack after school, at Abi's suggestion. Zeedan tells Yasmeen, Alya and Ryan he's booked them into a spa for the afternoon as a treat, in a bid to get them out of the way so that he can launder some cash through the till. Daisy presents Daniel with the designer clothes for Bertie, making out they're a present from her. Stu finds Kelly semi-conscious and realises with horror that she's been smoking spice. As Stu sets off to find the dealer, Kelly staggers off in the opposite direction. Under pressure to start the photoshoot, Daisy confesses to Daniel that the clothes were freebies and the clothing company think she's Bertie's mum. Daniel is annoyed at her for not putting them straight. Abi plays ball with Sam and Jack and makes up rules so that Sam will have to speak. She loses her rag when Sam ignores her instructions and remains silent. Kevin intervenes when she shouts at the boy. As Kelly stumbles along, she passes some drunk school kids, who decide to follow her.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew. Exceptions were occasionally made for instances in which characters were required to be in close contact. These were made in accordance with the rules by employing measures such as more frequent testing and cast members bubbling up together prior to recording.
First appearance of Jacob Hay since 12th March 2021.
The scenes where Kelly Neelan sleeps rough were recorded at the MediaCity studios behind the Victoria Street set, while the scenes at the end of the episode where Kelly is menaced by youths were shot in the paved area between the studios and the Imperial War Museum North, on Trafford Wharf Road. Both institutions can be seen prominently in several shots.
