Plot[]
Part One: Max thanks Summer for helping him with his science project and tells her he's almost finished his film. Nick fetches Sam's telescope from Natasha's house, hoping to reignite his son's interest. Max suggests that he and Lily could join him and Nick reluctantly agrees. Daisy comes round in secret to Daniel's flat, planning to tell Jenny that she's dumped him as part of their cover. Max films footage of David and Debbie arguing about Ray Crosby being the root cause of all their problems. Debbie pushes David to remember that the crooked water engineer's name was Colin Enderley. A mute Sam is pleased to see his telescope, but his face falls when Nick tells him that Max and Lily are coming round, and he retreats to his room again. Toyah worries when they've heard nothing from Kelly. Lily doesn't want to go and see Sam but Max, with his own personal motives uppermost in his mind, persuades her to reconsider. David is impressed with his son's sudden maturity. Roy bemoans the recent traumas that the community has suffered. Summer is horrified when Max's first edit of his film appears on her phone: a documentary about the sewer collapse, suggesting a conspiracy theory linking Johnny and Natasha's deaths. She's especially appalled by a credit thanking her for her assistance.
Part Two: Having gained access to Nick's flat, Max shoots further footage of the murder site. Roy suggests to an enthusiastic Sally and Maria that they organise a Christmas market with the proceeds going to charity. Max films Sam, asking him questions about his mum's death. Summer finds Max at the flat and tears into him for his cruel video. Seeing her storm out, Nick demands to know what was going on and, when Max remains silent, he goes after Summer to find out for himself. Debbie tries to trace Colin, having realised she met him a few times when he worked for Ray. She tells Kevin she's going to force Ray into confessing to sexually assaulting Faye, otherwise she will give the police evidence to convict him of the greater charge of manslaughter. Seeing Kelly searching through bins, Stu offers to help her find proper food. Max leaves Lily and Sam alone. She locks Sam on the balcony with his telescope. Jenny suffers a severe hangover. Daisy doesn't let on how she upset Carla. When Daniel comes into the Rovers, they enjoy kidding on to Jenny that they have finished. Debbie visits Ray in prison and presents her ultimatum to him. Lily refuses to let Sam in until he says one word. Taunting him while sucking on a lollipop, the sweet suddenly detaches from its stick and lodges in her throat, choking her.
