Plot

Part One: Dev lets David know about the declined bank card. David covers for Max, claiming that he loaned him his card. Imran tells Toyah that Sabeen wants him for a high profile case that'll earn him good money. Toyah says she trusts him to make the right decision. David catches Max bunking off school and forces him to hand Daniel's wallet over to him. He's enraged when Max's only concern is whether he'll dob him in. James repeats Danny's comments to his parents and asks what's going on. Against Ed's wishes, Aggie explains to him how Grace has them over a barrel. James is angry on their behalf. The Platts struggle to find an affordable way to repair the sinkhole when engineer Leo Thompkins advises them that all their expensive quotes are reasonably costed. Shona tells Gail that Audrey is feeling unwanted. Gail decides to hold a belated birthday meal for her mother. Nina tries to get her job back at Underworld. After grounding an unapologetic Max, David calls the school and withdraws his complaint.

Part Two: Imran gives Sabeen a firm no over the Harvey case, asserting that Harvey belongs behind bars. Daniel is in the middle of telling Ken about his suspension when the school rings him to say he can come back to work. Nina discovers that Carla has hired another designer. As she muses over her lack of qualifications, Roy suggests she go back to college to do a fashion course. Audrey spurns Rita when she asks her to do her hair. Daniel realises that his allegations were true when Dev mentions Max using a declined bank card. James stuns his parents by transferring £15,000 into their joint account so that they can keep Grace where she is without being out of pocket. Daniel thanks David for dropping his complaint and questions him on why he changed his mind. David says he wanted to give him a second chance and restates that the card Max used was his when Daniel brings it up. Max hears David lie for him and a disapproving Shona warns him that he's made things a hundred times worse.
