Plot[]
Part One: Having spent the night at No.6, Zeedan repeats his offer to Alya of £50,000 when Action Fraud don't provide any answers. She and Yasmeen accept although they wonder where the money has come from. Daniel offers to help Summer with her personal statement to apply to Oxford University. Kelly continues to get on well with Mia. Having booked her own sign language interpreter, Freda is happy at last with the funeral arrangements. Going to the cafe, Zeedan passes a parked car with two men inside who are watching his movements. In the cafe, Simon is delighted to see him back. Zeedan also meets and enters into an argument with Ryan about cheating on Alya. They square up to each other and Alya has to intervene, pointing out to her brother that he wasn't around to help with Geoff, and to shove his money. Sharon Geary visits Kelly to check up on her welfare. She lets slip that someone made an anonymous donation to fund her case. Kelly is delighted, thinking it must be her dad and that he's still alive. Seeing how cheered up she is, Sharon says nothing to burst her happiness. Mia spots Sharon and her face hardens as she recognises her. Elaine and Cathy make a trip into Manchester to buy Yasmeen a present to cheer her up. Alya accepts Zeedan's apology but makes it clear he has to stay out of her personal affairs. Chesney is unable to babysit for Gemma when a member of a cochlear implant support group asks to meet her for a coffee. The two men from the car ambush Zeedan and pull him into the Victoria Street ginnel.
Part Two: Having received the order of service for Norris's funeral, George is mortified when Freda points out that his date of birth incorrectly states 1949. Furious with him, she insists on reprinting them herself. Alya voices her fears to her gran that Zeedan's behaviour seems strange. They wonder where he has got to and call him. In the ginnel, his phone rings next to his unconscious form. Mary asks George if she can visit Norris in the chapel of rest. Summer asks Daniel for extra tuition with her entrance exam, but he feels obliged to turn her down. Seeing Gemma at the bus stop with Aled, Mary finds out that she's off to the hospital and then seeing Freda. Kelly tells Mia that Sharon used to work for her dad. Confirming that she means Rick Neelan, Mia snubs her and walks off. Returning from their trip, Cathy spots Zeedan in the ginnel as he starts to come round from his beating.

- First appearance of Aled Winter-Brown since 14th June 2021.
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew. Exceptions were occasionally made for instances in which characters were required to be in close contact. These were made in accordance with the rules by employing measures such as more frequent testing and cast members bubbling up together prior to recording.
