Plot[]
Part One: Imran and Toyah clear the air with each other. With the donated cash, he has obtained specialised forensic opinion that the blood on Kelly's shoes prove that she couldn't have been the ones administering the blows. Jenny is disappointed when Ronnie turns down the chance of a fry-up as he has a business meeting. Laura accosts Imran in the street offering to give evidence, but is told that with her conviction for child neglect she should stay out of the way. Michael think that the fact that Grace hasn't left yet means that she might want to give co-parenting a go. Ed and Aggie keep Grace's blackmail from him. Aggie wants to go to the police but Ed won't risk losing his grandchild. Simon hears from Toyah that a delay would assist Kelly. Toyah also confides in Leanne that she's worried that Imran is getting obsessed. Roy admits to Abi that Nina is getting stressed with the pre-trial review due today as she still doesn't have total memory recall of the night in question. Sabeen refuses an offer to apply for a trial delay as they think they have a strong case for Corey. Eileen and Bernie argue in the street when she verbally abuses Todd. Johnny walks in on a conversation between Jenny and Daisy about her interfering in his wife's love life and asks what's going on. The pre-trial review begins and Imran asks for an adjournment which is refused.
Part Two: Simon visits Kelly who is starting to crack under the thought of imprisonment for years. Having learned of her reluctance to move on, Johnny gives Jenny his blessing to go out with Ronnie, conceding that their marriage is over. Ronnie treats Ed to a bistro meal, adding to the bill when he realises that Debbie forgot to add the starters. She's grateful. Keen to show his gratitude to George, Todd organises a thorough clear-out of the undertaker's storeroom. George masks his unease. The judge rejects Sabeen's application that the evidence of Kelly's drugs conviction can be produced at the trial. Ed allows Grace the house rent-free but insists that legally it stays in his and Aggie's names. He makes it clear that he can't stand her. Daisy is delighted when Jenny tells her that she has Johnny's blessing to take up Ronnie's offer of a date. Entering the public, they are both disappointed to see Ronnie and Debbie chatting warmly at one of the tables and they think she's missed her chance. Simon enters the cafe and begs Nina to remember what happened during the attack, as she's Kelly's last hope. An outraged Roy throws him out. Sabeen produces evidence that Kelly's shoes were incorrectly stored and therefore Imran's new evidence is inadmissible. The judge agrees with her and refuses a devastated Imran leave to appeal.
Part Three: Kwame Boateng, the prosecution barrister offers Imran and Sabeen an offer to accept a plea bargain of manslaughter from both defendants. Ed begs Aggie to be civil to Grace during her remaining time with them. Aggie starts to work extra shifts now that their expected rental money won't be coming in. A simmering Jenny watches on as Ronnie and Debbie enjoy each other's company. She pretends to Daisy that she's not really bothered. Sabeen interrupts Imran's working lunch at the bistro with bought drinks for the two of them, annoying Toyah when she walks in on them. Eileen brings Costa drinks into the bistro when Todd emerges from the stockroom in anger. He covers up some ashes until his mother leaves and then asks George why Phelan's were on the shelf.
Part Four: George says the right time never came up to ask Eileen what she wanted and refuses to allow Todd to flush the ashes down the toilet. Sabeen overhears Simon telling Imran that Nina can't remember more of the attack and that Kelly is in a bad way. Michael is told about the house arrangement, but Grace lies that she still needs a job to pay the supposed rent. Ed keeps quiet in front of his oblivious son. Imran rips into Simon for both visiting Kelly and interfering in the case. Having just told Ed that he fancies Debbie more than Jenny, Ronnie is taken aback when Johnny tells him he has his blessing to go out with soon-to-be ex-wife, but he has him to answer to if he hurts her in any way. Abi is pleased that the trial is now set to proceed. Ronnie gets Jenny to agree with him that they're just mates, but her face shows she's lying. Imran assures Toyah that there is nothing going on between him and Sabeen. He tells her his cupboard is bare for the forthcoming trial and it might be best for Kelly to plead guilty to manslaughter.
