Plot[]

Part One: James makes Craig admit that he and Michael weren't being aggressive when he saw them. Alina is too exhausted to meet their friends at the Chariot Square Hotel but tells Tyrone to go. A suspicious Izzy fills her boxes with crumpled paper before Kirk picks them up, getting Sarah to tell her that her work is satisfactory before revealing the deception. Sarah is forced to admit that she lied about the second delivery and the boxes are sitting unopened in her office. Confirming that she's been working on a fictitious order, Izzy demands an explanation. She kills the call when Carla blames her for not asking for help. Sally tells Sarah and Carla to put their egos aside and work together to get Izzy back on side. Todd looks for a friend's sofa to kip on when George tells him he can't sleep at the funeral parlour any more. Fiz assures Hope that Tyrone loves her, Ruby and the new baby equally. Hope coldly responds she doesn't want the baby to be born. Tyrone and Kirk are the only ones to turn up at the hotel. They spend the evening drinking cocktails. Craig questions PC Brody's claim that the Baileys were being aggressive. The detective patronises Craig, saying he'll understand when he gains more experience. Craig is appalled when he comments that black people are often over-sensitive. Hope sneaks out of the house while Fiz is at the shop and Evelyn is asleep, using Alina's keys to let herself into the salon flat and retrieve her dinosaur.

Part Two: While at the flat, Hope gazes thoughtfully at a candle Alina has by the window and a bottle of nail varnish remover. Robert Dover, the County manager, encourages James to forget about what's happened and concentrate on his recovery. Hope returns to her bedroom without being seen. Alina sleeps soundly as smoke starts to creep under her bedroom door. James feels that if he accepts PC Brody's racism, nothing will change. He decides to appeal. Todd can't find anywhere to stay so George puts him up at his house. Eileen and Sally see smoke coming from the salon flat and call the fire brigade. Having taken a call from Evelyn, a shocked Tyrone tells Kirk they need to get home. Back on the street, Alina is taken to hospital in an ambulance, having escaped the flames but inhaled a lot of smoke. Hope watches the proceedings from her bedroom window.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew, even when they were playing family members or people who shared residences.
As Cherylee Houston was shielding when this episode was recorded, scenes set inside 28 Grayling Street were recorded inside the actress's real-life home, with Houston's husband, Toby Hadoke, portraying Izzy's neighbour Fergus Dunford. Filming equipment was sent by the Coronation Street team for Houston and Hadoke to record the scenes themselves [1].
A fireman is uncredited although he has a line of dialogue.
TV Times synopsis: Alina is rushed to hospital after the salon flat catches fire; and Craig questions PC Brody about the handling of James's arrest.
