Plot[]
Part One: Toyah and Imran make it clear to Laura that if she sells Kelly's story to the papers, they'll report her to social services. She makes out that she's doing it all for her daughter. Summer is thrilled when Billy and Todd get Nina to design a bespoke groomsmaid dress for the wedding. James finds out that he's torn a knee ligament and will be laid up for two months. As he arrives home on crutches, Michael implores him to make a formal complaint about PC Brody's conduct. James just wants to focus on getting better. Kelly is devastated when Imran tells her that Laura was only pretending to care about her so she could profit from her story. Hope works on her school project, painting a picture with all the family on it. Fiz is amused when she positions Alina next to a pile of Cerberus's dog poo, while Tyrone is miffed that she's given Phill Whittaker big muscles. Sarah fires Laura as she keeps coming in late. Laura is also arrested on suspicion of child cruelty. Weatherfield County pays for James's knee surgery. As Craig calls in at No.3, Michael tells him that his fellow officer is a racist. Craig sticks up for his colleague, while James again asks his brother to drop the subject. Afterwards, James admits that he'd like to report PC Brody but has too much to lose if he does. Michael implores him to help make a better world for Glory to grow up in.
Part Two: Summer is upset that she's put on weight since her diagnosis. Toyah and Imran each think that the other reported Laura to the police but both of them deny the charge. Alina is annoyed that Tyrone doesn't make time for her like he does for his children. He shows her she's wrong by spending the evening with her despite Hope asking for help with her picture. Enraged at Tyrone choosing Alina over him, Hope pulls the head off her picture of Alina. James discovers that someone filmed their arrest and posted the video online. Toyah and Imran tell Kelly about Laura's arrest. She confesses that she told the police her mum's history of abusive behaviour towards her. James and Michael are horrified to read the vitriolic comments on the video, accusing them of playing the race card. James realises he has to report PC Brody now in order to defend himself.
