Plot

Leanne joins Nick in his search for Sam while the boy remains oblivious on the balcony. Leaving Curtis and Emma to talk things through, Tracy berates Steve for not telling her. Not understanding the full gravity of the situation, Emma is still angry with Curtis for not being fully upfront with her. He tells her he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which killed his father, but he also has other symptoms that the doctors don't know how to treat. Leanne finds Sam on the balcony. Emma can't forgive Curtis for not being honest with her and storms off. Toyah is suspicious when Kelly rings Imran to say that Laura is visiting her. Kelly isn't over the moon to see her mother, who asks her to get everything off her chest about the night of the attack so she can be a support to her. An unsuspecting Kelly admits she suffers from flashbacks. Sam makes Nick see that he's trying too hard to get everything right. Curtis asks for a cab to go home to Fallowfield. Steve pretends they have a delay to keep him around while he runs to fetch his daughter. Evelyn breaks the news to Tyrone that Fiz has a date. Steve finds Emma and tells her that life is too short to ignore chances of happiness. Both Fiz and Phill are nervous as they meet at Speed Daal but enjoy each other's company. Emma and Steve find that Tim has taken Curtis. Emma uses the cab radio to apologise to Curtis and ask him not to go. Over dinner in the bistro, James reveals that he’s been approached by a leading gay magazine wanting an interview. Michael, Grace and Danny are delighted for him. Sam's presence reminds Nick how affected he is by Oliver's death. Grace isn't pleased when she and Michael can't get time on their own away from James and Danny. A jealous Tyrone comes into Speed Daal to watch over Fiz. Phill quickly realises who he is. Curtis returns. He and Emma agree they want to carry on together, no matter what.
