Plot[]
Part One: Nick and Simon surprise Leanne with cards and flowers on her fortieth birthday. Tyrone can't attend a midwife appointment with Alina as he has a solicitor's meeting to sort out Kirsty's probate. She's not happy to hear that Fiz has volunteered to go with him. Neither Evelyn nor Maria can understand why Fiz is being so helpful to Tyrone, but she insists she’s doing it for Ruby. Leanne is withdrawn and sad on her birthday. Billy has to help Summer with her injections as she can’t bring herself to do it. Danny has spent the night at No.3, much to Ed's approval. Having cancelled his job in France, Danny is now looking for work. Sarah has to push Nick to attend a business meeting with Jo Lafoe. After being at the solicitors, Tyrone has to rush to join Alina at the medical centre. A puzzled Fiz sees them going in and gets an admission from him that Alina is pregnant.
Part Two: Fiz is livid that they knew when all the time she was helping Tyrone to bury Kirsty. Ryan is too absorbed in his DJ work to pay attention to Alya. James has a meeting with Sammy Farr as the media pursues him for interviews. A contemptuous Carla laughingly refuses to see Jo on Nick's behalf. David and Sarah visit Gail where David is cynical about her need for time and space to herself. Fiz tells Evelyn that she feels she was being used by Tyrone in the eight years between Kirsty and Alina. She’s devastated when she suddenly realises that Evelyn knew about the pregnancy and kept quiet. She coldly tells her to move out. Alya refuses to let Ryan DJ in Speed Daal again, preferring piped music. Sarah is annoyed with Nick for not turning up at the meeting with Jo, but is not able to afford to buy him out. Aadi shows an interest in Summer, but the feeling is not reciprocated. Evelyn lectures Tyrone about showing Fiz some respect. Alina agrees with her. Debbie finds out that Danny is trained chef and manager, and is looking for work. Adam offers to give Sarah the money to buy Nick out.
Part Three: Fiz changes her mind when she sees that Evelyn is cracking under the strain of her grandson's actions and is genuinely remorseful. With the finances cleared, Sarah leaves a voicemail with Nick making an offer for his shares. Alina tells Tyrone that she’s not sure if he loves her, as he doesn’t seem happy about their situation. When he convinces her, she admits that she’s just insecure. Sarah and Adam celebrate with champagne as she makes new plans for the factory. Summer angrily refuses to see a nurse for training on how to handle her own injections. Arriving to meet Maria for a drink, Fiz walks into the Rovers to see Tyrone, Alina and Kevin celebrating the baby news.
Part Four: Fiz is invited to join them but refuses, preferring to wait outside for her friend. Todd and Billy try to talk Summer round, but she won’t listen to their entreaties. Fiz and Maria go to the bistro instead. Daisy scorns Ryan for giving up on his DJ ambitions. Nick tells Leanne that he's sold his factory shares. Alina suggests that Tyrone might have to sell his motorbike as they'll need the money. Summer surreptitiously knocks back energy drinks. On the steps of the factory, Nick introduces the staff to their new owner - Carla. Sarah is aghast that her brother didn’t get her message and that she'll be working for someone who hates her. Carla makes it clear to Sarah that she'll be in charge of things from now on. Fiz tells Maria she’s given up on Tyrone and now she’s going to look forward to the future. They drink to the rest of her life.

Notes[]
- This was a one-hour episode made up of two production codes. Both halves were written by Simon Crowther. It was orginally intended for transmission to take place at 7.30pm, but a few days before transmission it changed to 8.00pm due to the Euro 2020 football tournament. A short time before broadcast, transmission was again changed to 8.45pm due to the match going into extra time and penalties.
- First appearance of Beth Sutherland since 16th November 2020.
- The episode was made available to stream on the ITV Hub on Monday 28th June, ahead of its ITV transmission following a decision taken by ITV to release all episodes of both Coronation Street and Emmerdale at the start of each week for the duration of the Euro 2020 football tournament, a time when the soaps were frequently displaced from their usual timeslots, so that viewers could watch at their convenience.
- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this episode was made with social distancing rules being observed by both cast and production crew, even when they were playing family members or people who shared residences.
- TV Times synopsis: Billy frets when Summer refuses to face reality.
- Viewing Figures: First UK broadcast: 4,275,000 viewers (28th place - this episode was transmitted opposite Euro 2020 coverage on BBC1 and was the lowest rated episode of the year).
