Plot
Part One: Kevin finds Abi awake downstairs in the middle of the night. She refuses to listen to his pleas that she gets some sleep. Toyah and Imran feel out of their depth dealing with Kelly’s predicament. Billy is concerned for Summer when she sets off for school although the girl insists that she is okay. Arriving at the hospital, Roy finds Nina packing her bag as she wants to discharge herself. She tells him she feels guilt-ridden about what she could have done differently that night that would mean that Seb would still be alive. Kevin summons Sally to see Abi but she’s unable to provide any succour for her. Kelly pays Corey a visit and suggests they tell the police the truth as Imran suggests. Stefan bursts into the flat, angry that his son is talking to her. Ed prepares the house for Glory’s imminent arrival home having at last installed a proper stair bannister. Abi gets time alone and listens in full to Seb’s last phone message to her. Stefan throws Kelly out of the flat, telling her that she’s on her own. He insists that his son is the innocent party in the matter and says they should go to the police now and tell them the truth as they see it. Sally reports that Faye was devastated to hear from Tim about Seb’s death.
Part Two: Abi goes to the police station and plays DS Swain Seb’s phone message which also recorded the first moments of the attack. Michael and Grace start to become irritated with Ed’s well-intended help and suggestions. Evelyn returns from her train trip and calls in the cafe. However, when she’s rude about Kirk’s intelligence, Roy likens her vitriol to that suffered by Nina and angrily throws her out. Imran and Toyah tell Kelly that social services are reappraising whether her staying with them is the best thing for her. They’re thrown when Laura Neelan suddenly appears round the corner. DS Swain tells Abi that the message is significant evidence and they’re going to investigate it further. Laura tells Kelly that she left her boyfriend when she heard about the trouble that she was in and blames Imran and Toyah for her daughter’s predicament. Abi starts to hurl abuse at Corey and Stefan when they arrive at the station. Corey tells her that he’s there to tell the truth.
