Plot[]
Part One: Faye is calm on the day of her sentencing as Craig promises his full support. Tim finds it difficult to cope with his daughter's stoic acceptance that she’ll be going to prison for a year. Peter has been diagnosed with hypotension and hypoglycaemia as he recovers in hospital with Carla by his side. Emma sees Lucas flirting with Alina outside the salon and mistakenly urges her to go for it. As she leaves, Alina texts Tyrone who makes his excuses and hurriedly leaves No.9 to join her. Johnny wishes Gary well before he sets off for court and his sentencing. He assures him that Maria will be there to support him. Craig confides in Kirk that he’s going to resign from the police force as his relationship with Faye is more important. With Cathy gone, the attacks on The Kabin seem to have ended. Seb tries out a goth look but an amused Abi assures him that Nina likes him for who he is. Maria cuts Lucas’s hair at the barbers. Kirk tells Faye about Craig’s decision. As Tyrone and Alina get down to an afternoon romp, they’re interrupted by the arrival of Emma. Whilst Tyrone hides behind the sofa, Emma spots his discarded jeans and assumes Alina made a move on Lucas. As they hurriedly get dressed, Tyrone implores Alina to stick to the story that she was in bed with Lucas. An emotional Faye tells Craig there’s no way she’s letting him give up his job for her and it’s best they finish. She sets off for court.
Part Two: Seb tells Nina he won’t be attending the gig. He’s gutted when she reveals that she’d booked a hotel room for the night too. In The Kabin, Brian takes a call claiming that Rita’s been nominated for a Weatherfield Golden Heart Award. As they refer to her as “Rita Sullivan”, he assumes it’s a hoax, cooked up by one of Cathy’s trolls. Maria is sat in the Rovers as Gary’s court case begins, not interested in the outcome. Alina calls in and asks Emma to keep her relationship with Lucas under her hat as he’s an Underworld client. When Emma admits to Maria that she didn’t actually see Lucas, just a pair of men’s jeans at dinnertime, Maria’s mind whirrs, knowing that she was cutting Lucas’s hair at the time. Doctor Adlington tells Peter that he’s been placed on the transplant list. Gary is given eight months for perverting the course of justice but told he’s free to go due to his time on remand. Craig turns up as Faye’s sentence is given. With Ray innocent of any accusation of rape until his own trial decides otherwise, her motives cannot be taken into account and to everyone's shock she is handed down three years in jail.
