Part One: David gets a final refusal for the mortgage application on No.8 due to the sinkhole. He expects Tracy to win the auction. Joe Chissick, a lonely prisoner, asks Johnny for a game of pool. He declines, obsessed with his hallucinations that he can see cockroaches on the floor. Steve returns from the Peak District and is shocked to find out that Tracy intends to buy No.8 when David and Shona berate him for not being a decent mate to them. Simon breaks the news to Leanne that Nick won't be coming back to the flat soon. Nick texts to suggest lunch in the bistro. Leanne agrees, saying it's time she got her act together. Steve cannot persuade Tracy to drop her auction plan. Audrey boasts about a Caribbean cruise holiday she's booked. David doesn't tell her about the bank's refusal, much to Shona's puzzlement. The prisoners are locked down in their cells due to an incident. Shona approaches Audrey and asks her if she can lend them the money to buy No.8, but Audrey reminds her that David stole from her. Jacob texts Simon with another job. Nick turns up at the bistro with Sam. Leanne masks her disappointment and makes him welcome.

Part Two: Leanne lies to Nick, making out that Imran's keeping her job open for her and they're fine for money. Simon keeps his counsel. Shona is furious when she hears Tracy making plans to give No.8 a makeover and the two row in the street. Johnny's gutted when Gary tells him that Joe's been found dead in his cell and blames himself for not helping. Leanne and Steve swap pleasantries in the street. She lies that she enjoyed going to France. Nick and David sign on to watch the auction. Shona sees a telecommunications engineer crouching in front of an open cabinet on Rosamund Street with all the wires hanging out and has an idea. Tracy signs on for the auction as it begins. Audrey tells David she'll lend him the money and he quickly starts bidding. Abi asks Debbie what she's up to, suspicious that she's not behaving as if she's just murdered someone. The internet connections go down suddenly. Leanne heads to Victoria Gardens and gazes at Oliver's apple tree, lost in misery. Tracy sees a smiling Shona heading down the street, a shovel in her hand. She admits to David she's sabotaged the junction box and he breaks the news that she's done the same to their chances now that they have the money, but their Wi-Fi has also gone down.
