Plot[]
Part One: Daniel pops in to see Peter now that he and Ken have returned from Scotland. He has a hospital appointment about his liver in the afternoon. Simon goes out to buy food for him and Leanne. She asks him not to say anything about her being in the flat. Dev tells the twins that he has a big surprise for their sixteenth birthday tomorrow. Peter and Carla swap civil words in the street. Johnny struggles with his MS in the prison but is pleased to find that Gary is also an inmate there. Sally is horrified to find that Tim has brought the Street Cars chair into the house, intending to keep it for sentimental reasons. She thinks Faye looks pale. Leanne's card is declined in the corner shop but Dev lets Simon take the food and pay for it later. Peter attends the clinic where he talks to Linda, a patient who has been waiting for a liver transplant for two years. He admits his own condition is caused by his alcoholism and not natural causes as in her case. On his way back to the flat, Simon apologises to Kelly for standing her up. She suggests doing something today but when he makes excuses she storms off. Tracy sees him going into the flat by himself. Ken is delighted that Daniel is taking a teacher-training course. Daniel has an idea to help Peter. Leanne finds it difficult to cope.
Part Two: Peter is told there's no visible improvement in his liver function and they will continue to monitor him for the next few months, but a transplant could be very successful. Jenny visits Johnny. She gets him to promise that he'll be honest with what the neurologist tells him. Peter sees that Linda is upset about her own bad diagnosis. Sally packs their belongings, wondering why Faye is so unconcerned about their impending move. Asha pours out her troubles to Nina. Tracy mentions to Nick that she saw Simon going into Victoria Court. Johnny slips and struggles to get his balance. Tim asks Maria if she's still got the rucksack that he lent to Gary, but she lies, saying she got rid of all of his stuff. Nick enters the flat and finds Leanne there. The family summons Peter for a talk. Daniel offers to be a liver donor for Peter, but he refuses outright.
