Plot[]

Part One: Emma, Steve and Tim have also received eviction letters for the salon flat and Street Cars. David realises that the letters were delivered within minutes of the committee's decision and therefore Ray knew he'd win. Roy admits to Evelyn that he knew it was Beryl Medwin's funeral today but didn't feel it was his place to tell her. He suggests that Arthur could do with a friend right now. Debbie demands that Ray stop needling the residents, though he's enjoying it. Evelyn asks Arthur over to No.9 and offers him her sincere apologies. Adam looks over David's tenancy agreement and discovers a clause allowing his landlord to evict him from No.8 providing they offer alternative accommodation.

Part Two: David doesn't have high hopes for wherever they end up and tells Nick that Ray has won. Arthur tells Evelyn he's returning to Canada as his niece and family are there. She's shocked when he invites her to move there with him tomorrow. Nick tries to belatedly accept Ray's offer to relocate the factory but Ray tells him it's too late. Arthur asks Evelyn to meet him at the tram stop with her bags at 3.00pm tomorrow if she intends to go to Canada. Evelyn doesn't know what to do. Faye makes up with Craig. Kelly is now sure that Gary killed Rick and has been looking after her to assuage his guilty conscience. Michael and Grace go to a paternity clinic. Michael pays extra for a fast-track service, wanting to know the truth as soon as possible. At the Chariot Square Hotel, Ray meets with the chairperson of the planning committee and buys her a drink. Emma starts learning Spanish to broaden her life skills. Sally is suspicious of Ray's victory and suspects he's given someone a backhander. The residents begin to turn on each other as they speculate on who would sell out to Ray if the price was high enough, especially when they'd get far less with a CPO. Abi rallies the troops and they agree to keep fighting.
