Plot[]
Part One: As Imran gets ready for the second day of the trial, he tells a forlorn Alya that he needs her to be strong when she takes her turn in the witness box. He admits to Ryan that he's nervous about the outcome. A frantic Leanne can't calm down. Abi organises a meeting of the residents to protest at the development. Yasmeen takes the stand. Tracy and Emma have decorated Victoria Gardens for the service. Steve has gone out without telling anyone where he's going. He makes his way to the hospital and Oliver's room which is now occupied by another critically ill child. He lies to the worried father that Oliver is now recovering. Yasmeen denies her alcoholism and tells the court the history of Geoff's coercive control over her, his anger outbursts and the killing of Charlotte Brontë. As Geoff glares angrily on, Tim finds the harrowing testimony difficult to listen to. The court is shown the footage taken on Geoff's phone of him attacking Yasmeen and is told of her enquiry to the police under Clare's Law, saying she suddenly realised she was victim of domestic abuse on the night of the attack.
Part Two: Yasmeen answers questions about the night of the wounding, recounting all of the incident. Abi, Brian, David, Nina and Roy meet in Speed Daal to discuss Ray's plans. Roy suggests that they get the brewery listed as a building of historical interest due to its links to the suffragette movement, thereby preventing it from being demolished. The prosecution barrister casts doubt on Yasmeen's story about being deliberately locked in the magic box, and that being shouted at on the video is not evidence of any crime. She further gains an admission that it was Alya and not her who made the enquiry to the police about Clare's Law. Steve gets Leanne's approval for continuing to fundraise for parents in their situation. With the service about to start, Leanne's shocked to spot Sam hovering outside the gardens. She sharply tells him that he's not welcome. As Geoff smirks in satisfaction, the barrister gets Yasmeen to admit that it's possible he wasn't holding the knife at the exact moment she hit him with the bottle.
