Johnny and Jenny are roused in the middle of the night by the sound of breaking glass from the public. They find Peter unconscious with an empty bottle of whisky in front of him. Carla makes for Underworld to avoid going home and Adam follows her, wanting assurances that she won't say anything to anyone. Leanne and Toyah have kept an overnight vigil by Oliver's bedside. Toyah counsels her sister that arguing with Steve isn't good for her. Sarah goes to work early, finding Daniel walking Bertie to get him to go to sleep. She watches with concern from a distance as Johnny takes a staggering Peter to the hospital. Adam has to hide as Sarah enters the factory, wondering why Carla is there so early.
Part Two: Carla claims to be catching up on some work. Sarah tells her about Peter. As they talk, Adam knocks an item off the shelf he's hiding behind. Sarah realises there's somebody there with Carla and leaves the factory to save her embarrassment. Tracy frets about how Amy will cope with Oliver's death. As dawn breaks, Todd finds Paul alone and offers to intercede with Billy on his behalf. Peter comes to in hospital with Carla by his side. He tells her that he loves her but she's better off without him. The doctor tells him that he's possibly one drink away from a fatal internal bleed. Billy and Paul make up. Emma suggests to Tracy that they should make a memory box for Oliver. Peter is released after tests. Summer arrives back early from her stay at Geraldine's. She's shocked and angry to see Todd has returned and refuses to talk to him. A guilty Adam tries to find out from Daniel how Peter is doing, worried how the mugging might have affected him. Peter assures Carla he's not going to throw his life away. She tells him that she loves him.
