Plot[]
Part One: Steve, Leanne and Simon prepare to give evidence in court. Leanne tells Toyah that Oliver's not to have any visitors while she's away. Peter and Carla return from a sailing holiday and hear about what Scott did. Johnny keeps his involvement a secret from them. A hung-over Paul calls in sick from work. Billy catches him looking for a new job but Paul denies it's because of Todd. Beth advises Alina to stay away from Adam as he's a Barlow. Simon has an attack of nerves before he takes the stand and has to be given a pep talk by Leanne.
Part Two: From the witness box, a defiant Simon tells the court that doctors can be wrong. Carla returns to the factory. The bishop tells Billy that the job offer is still on the table. Paul decides not to let Todd get to him and goes back into work. Sarah realises people are gossiping about Adam and Alina. She tells Alina that she and Adam are finished and as far as she's concerned they can do what they like. Leanne is next in the witness box. Facing Elliot first, she asserts that the hospital failed Oliver by putting off the German doctors and her son needs to be alive for when a cure for his disease is found. Leanne then reads from her diary of the times Oliver has reacted to certain stimuli. The factory staff evacuate the building when Beth says she's seen a rat. Sarah ushers them all back inside and has a go at Adam for taking the opportunity to fix up a lunch date with Alina. They row when Adam accuses Sarah of jealousy. Carla walks up with a new client just as Sarah is screeching at Adam. Back in court, the trust barrister suggests that Oliver's reactions are involuntary reflexes and pushes Leanne until she concedes that it's a possibility. Leanne feels she's not being listened to and tells the judge that Oliver is her son, not a statistic.
