Plot[]

Part One: Leanne stays by Oliver's bedside all night, not wanting to be around Nick. Nick doesn't think he'll be welcome in court but Tracy persuades him that it's better to put in an appearance and be turned away than fail Leanne a second time. Eileen tells Todd to get a job. Looking for a new career, Sean takes the afternoon off to attend a sales seminar in Deansgate and gets Michael to join him. Sarah accidentally leaves herself short-staffed by letting them both go. Overhearing her complain, Todd charms his way into becoming Underworld's new sales executive, on a month's probation. As Oliver's hearing begins, Leanne refuses to allow Nick or Tracy in the courtroom. Adam tries to chat Alina up at the cafe and offers to walk her back to the factory. She plays hard to get. Dr Howarth begins the proceedings by telling the court that Oliver's seizures hasten brain degeneration and he would suffer from them continuously if his sedation was reduced. She argues that the only act of kindness is to terminate his life support.

Part Two: Dr Howarth's convincing argument leaves Leanne despondent. Paul is miffed that he has to work alongside Todd. Billy awaits a visit from the bishop to find out if the position of archdeacon is his. Sean and Michael return having secured the selling rights to a new range of beauty products. Clocking the friction between Todd and Paul, Sarah tries to bring her team together by taking everyone out for a curry after work. After a stressful day, Leanne starts knocking back the wine. Steve tries to get her to forgive Nick but he fails to get through to her. Paul succumbs to peer pressure and joins Sarah's team building exercise. Leanne sees Steve in a new light and tells him what a good dad he is. He's startled when she makes a move on him and asks him to take her to bed.
