Plot[]
Part One: Unaware that Todd is sleeping in the attic, Mary tells a jumpy Eileen that she's been hearing strange noises upstairs. Gemma urges Chesney and Bernie to find more work as she's sick of living hand to mouth. Gary struggles around with his bruised ribs. Fed up with their neighbours' disloyalty to them, Maria urges him to take the job with Ray. David is still finding Shona difficult to cope with. Eileen suggests trying to talk sense to Mick now that he's had his money and asking him to leave them alone. Mary tells Kirk and George that she thinks that No.11 is haunted by the ghost of Pat Phelan. George gives Mick's number to Eileen. Bernie asks Roy for shifts at the cafe but only for only mid-mornings. David tells Aaron about Shona's altercation with Hugo and her other difficult behaviours. Aaron announces he's reducing his hours with Shona as he has other patients, and that David and Shona need to talk more. Chesney persuades Kirk to give him a part-time job in packing at Underworld. Todd finds out that Eileen rang Mick's number from Street Cars and heared a Geordie accent. He tells her that was Mick's husband, Erik, and if Mick finds out that they've involved his family, he really is done for.
Part Two: Shona takes Aaron's news badly, feeling that no one cares about her. Gary offers to get Ray a competitive quote for the development work. He warns Ray that not everyone will be willing to sell up and he needs him on side in order to progress the project. Mary summons a disbelieving Billy to No.11 in order to exorcise the ghost of Phelan. Aaron persuades Shona to listen to what David has to say to her. She assures him that her outbursts of bluntness are not vindictive, but the conversation goes badly when she casually refers to David's rape. He storms out of the house. Erik calls at Street Cars, accusing a stunned Tim of having an affair with Mick. Mary pushes Billy into completing the exorcism but before they can start, they hear a noise upstairs. Mary screams at the spirit to reveal himself, scaring Billy witless, and then they are both stunned when Todd walks down the stairs.
