Plot[]

Part One: Eileen tells Gary that Todd scarpered soon after Mick did and the gun's been turned over to the police. To keep her son safe, she says she has no idea who Mick is and swears Gary to secrecy over what happened, with Maria being the only other person in the know. Still inside No.11, Todd hides from everyone except Eileen. David reluctantly takes Shona to work with him when Aaron cancels their meeting. Todd thinks he's safe as long he remains at No.11. Johnny is alarmed to find Scott acting chummy with Ray. Billy is summoned to a meeting with the bishop. Johnny pretends to be at a real ale conference at Alderley Edge for the day to avoid a meeting with Scott. Mick returns to the street to get even with Todd. He enters the back yard of No.11 while Todd desperately hides within.

Part Two: An arrogant model, Hugo, asks David to cut his hair as a rush job as he has a fashion shoot tomorrow and his usual barber is booked up for months. David is amused by Shona's pointed comments to him. Mick shows up at the furniture shop with a heavy. Scott discovers the flimsy pretext by which Johhny is avoiding him. He tells Jenny he has an interview for a job in Shrewsbury. Gail is nearly hit when Mick and the heavy drive off. She manages to get a picture of the number plate. While David's back is turned, Shona shaves off Hugo's topknot when he's rude to her. The model and threatens to sue David for lost earnings. Maria finds Gary beaten up in the shop.

Part Three: Maria summons Craig, going against Gary's wishes and insists he tells the policeman what occurred at Eileen's yesterday. David defends Shona from his barbs but is worried that he'll carry out his threat. Gary tells Craig everything he knows. Evelyn and Arthur plan a camping trip to Norfolk. Craig questions Eileen about Todd, Mick and the gun. Eileen accuses Gary of making the whole thing up and suggests he's a loan shark again. Gary, refusing medical attention, is livid that Eileen didn't back him after he saved Todd's life. Evelyn asks Dev for a few days off work for Norfolk. Dev encourages her to take the rest of the year off. Evelyn thinks he's trying to replace her with the twins as he doesn't have to pay them as much. Dev's offended by the insinuation and refuses her holiday request. Gary tells Eileen he's done protecting Todd and is after her son himself.

Part Four: Gary's anger intensifies when Sarah refuses to help him by passing on the picture of the van and the residents imply that he had it coming. Billy's encouraged to apply to become the new archdeacon, the bishop's right-hand-man. Billy warns Paul that not all of the parishioners are as liberal as the bishop. Evelyn begins badmouthing Dev for employing slave labour. Arthur defends Evelyn's honour when Dev complains about her behaviour, while Evelyn tells Dev to shove his job, clarifying that she's not quitting but accepting his earlier offer of redundancy and will expect payment. Shona flies off the handle thinking David must not fancy her any more as they're still sleeping apart. Scott collars Johnny upon his return from the "conference" and piles yet more pressure on the landlord by revealing that he was the one who dealt with Jordan and Chelsey. He demands Johnny return the favour. Gary decides that he owes the community nothing and offers to sell the factory to Ray if he tells him what he's really up to. Ray reveals that he's building a regeneration zone to put the area on the map. Gary is past caring what happens to the street and secures £450,000 for the factory and the contract for the ground work, telling Ray he can bulldoze the whole place for all he cares.
