Plot[]

Part One: Maria thinks the barbers would be a better investment than the factory. Eileen scrapes together £1,300 to pay Mick off. Sean's excited when Violet agrees to let him have Dylan over half-term. The Platts prepare Audrey's party at No.8, with Sarah picking up the birthday girl. Evelyn and Arthur return from the Lake District after just one night. Gary receives a letter from his new landlord putting up the rent on the furniture shop. He's puzzled as he thought Kevin owned the unit. Evelyn tells Tyrone it's his fault they're back as the inflatable mattress he gave Arthur had a hole in it. She's offended when Tyrone suggests Arthur punctured it hoping that she'd allow him into her bed. Mary fetches Eileen from No.11, ordering her to change into something more funereal.

Part Two: David plans to fill the sinkhole as cheaply as possible. Gary looks it over and offers to put him in touch with a specialist company. Gary's intrigued when David mentions that Ray tried to help him sell the house. Eileen discovers that George is staging a funeral for Todd, complete with coffin and flowers depicting Todd's name. Scott forces Johnny to get involved in his plot against Ray by threatening to tell Jenny everything. Kevin admits to Gary that he sold the furniture shop to Ray. Shona invites a bunch of strangers from the cafe to Audrey's party. The party is ruined when they eat all the food before the proper guests have arrived. Eileen thinks George's plan to burn up an empty coffin is ludicrous, not least because Mick saw Todd just two days ago. Having been informed of Todd's "death" by George, a disbelieving Mick shows up to find out if it's true. Gary does some digging on Ray and theorises that he's buying up the land in Coronation Street. Ray lends credence to the theory when he readily agrees to double his offer for the factory. Gary demands to know what his end goal is.
