Plot[]
Part One: Claiming that David hates her, Shona tells Nina that she's decided to leave Weatherfield. Sally finds pensive Tim on the switch. She is worried about the missing Elaine and why she is missing. Tim remembers that she gave him her address in Bolton and he determines to go and search for her there. Nina rings David with Shona's news. He rushes round to the cafe to stop his wife leaving. As Nick, Leanne and Steve make preparations for their holiday in Cornwall, they're interrupted by the sound of Oliver's seizure alarm. Geoff turns up, having been released by the police. He tells Tim he forgives him for turning him over and wants them to start again but his son isn't interested in having any sort of relationship with him. He sets off for Bolton. Leanne agrees to Steve's idea that they have Oliver checked up at hospital before they go on their trip. Dev finds Cathy rehearsing a play to herself that Brian has written and wants to stage. She refuses to do extra shifts at Prima Doner to help him out. David assures Shona he doesn't hate her and explains that his difficulties are due to her changed personality. He invites her round to a barbecue at No.8. She agrees if Nina can join them. Nick is surprised to see Natasha Blakeman outside the hospital while they're waiting to see a consultant.
Part Two: Nick and Natasha catch up with what they've been doing in the past ten years. Her face shows she still has feelings for Nick. She claims she's at the hospital for a dermatology appointment, but Steve is suspicious. Nick avoids mentioning his relationship with Leanne. Oliver has another seizure in the hospital. Aadi is livid to find Corey in No.7 with Asha and the two lads face off to each other. At the barbecue, David continues to find Shona difficult to understand. Suddenly there's an almighty crash and a huge crater appears in the middle of the garden. Everyone gazes into the sinkhole, completely stunned.
Part Three: They hear the sound of water coming from within it. Billy confides in Sean that he thinks the man found in the canal is Kel and worries how Paul will react when he finds out. Dev struggles to cope at the kebab shop. Aadi rings him and tells him that Corey is in the house. David admits to Shona that he loses his temper with her when he's stressed. Dr Howarth has Oliver taken to intensive care. Colin, the water engineer, tells David that the hole has been caused by a sewer collapse and he might be liable to pay the costs. Despite himself, David enjoys Shona's amused reaction to the news. Tim returns from Bolton and tells Sally and Alya that there was no sign of Elaine and judging by the pile of post on the mat, she's not been there for a while. Colin breaks the news to David that as a result of the sinkhole, the house is unstable and he'll have to find somewhere else to live.
Part Four: As the Platts pack the car to go and stay with Audrey, Ray passes by and offers to put them up at the Chariot Square Hotel. Despite Sarah's outright refusal, Shona wants them all to stay in luxury surroundings so they agree. Asha refuses to stop seeing Corey and announces that the two of them are getting a flat together as soon as she reaches sixteen. Billy can't bring himself to tell Paul about Kel when he says he has trouble keeping the abuse he suffered out of his head. Tim tells Alya how sorry he is for failing to see that she was right about Geoff all along. Alya admits that Imran's opinion is that the footage they found might be inadmissible in court as it was stolen from Geoff. She wonders if a witness summons might bring Elaine out of hiding. Dr Howarth tells Steve and Leanne that they should prepare themselves for the worst with Oliver. Leanne refuses to accept the news. David tells Shona he wants to get to know her new personality. Ray and Colin discuss his work in creating the sinkhole in the first place. Ray thinks about what David's next step will be. Nick overhears Natasha discussing her nine-year old son's sprain with a doctor, and that she has had one or two reminders of the child's father that day.
