Plot[]

Part One: Sarah hasn't decided what to tell the police. Gary is unwilling to turn himself in for killing Rick in self-defence, as he wouldn't be believed. He reminds Sarah that she helped blame Callum's death on Tony Stewart. Sarah thinks he's going to blackmail her, but Gary says he would never do so and begs her to keep his secret. After she leaves, Gary climbs out of his hospital bed. Elaine introduces herself to Sally. Gemma accidentally insinuates that Abi doesn't love her children as she let them go. Sally believes that Elaine is Tim's mother and urges her to have another go at getting through to Tim. Elaine agrees. Adam catches Sarah out when she lies about going to see Gary. Elaine is on her way to the cab office when Geoff pulls up alongside her. She's frightened to death as he blocks her escape. Sarah is visited by DS Lomas, who questions her about the accident. Sarah says that Gary appeared out of nowhere and saved her life when she walked into the path of an oncoming car. The detective asks her why she dialled 999 before the accident - the operator heard the collision over the line.

Part Two: A stammering Sarah "remembers" that she thought her car had been stolen and called in to report it. It's obvious that DS Lomas doesn't believe her. Equally unconvinced, Adam also demands the truth. Geoff tells Elaine to walk away and never think of Weatherfield again. Jenny witnesses the exchange, as does Faye. Elaine stands her ground with Geoff but is terrified as he moves in on her. Gary leaves three letters marked for Maria, Izzy and Nicola in the flat as he prepares to make a run for it, believing that Sarah has shopped him. He's interrupted by Adam, who suspects him and Sarah of having an affair. Gary smarts as he's got away with it again. Gemma apologises to Abi for her insensitive comments. Abi knows that she's giving the twins a better life by letting them go. Gemma gives her a socially distanced cuddle. Bernie mentions to Adam that Sarah bought a watch from her as a present for him. Asked why she never said anything, Sarah tells Adam that it was cheap so she donated it to a charity shop. Adam remains as suspicious as ever. Alya can't get hold of Elaine and worries when Jenny says she saw her with Geoff and it didn't look friendly. Outside, Geoff removes the SIM card from a mobile phone and throws it down a drain, making sure he isn't seen doing so.
