Nick tells him that the best thing he can do now is to stick at it. Roy is thrilled to discover that he and Arthur share an interest in steam trains. Fiz advises Chesney to do something romantic with Gemma. Steve is annoyed that Leanne has told Oliver without him being there. Leanne bitterly reminds him that when they lose Oliver, he'll still have Amy and Emma, and she'll have nothing. Unbeknown to them, Simon has overheard.

She manages to whisk Arthur off to the pictures, despite Roy offering them free meals to get them to stay. Roy and Arthur arrange to meet at the Rovers later for another chat. Toyah can't bring herself to mention her fostering plans to Leanne after seeing the state of her. Simon walks out of school as he's about to enter the exam hall. Alina tells Michael that she's ended her friendship with Seb. The school informs Leanne that Simon missed his exam. Paul agrees to babysit the kids so that Chesney can take Gemma out on a date.
