Elsa Tilsley was the third wife of Nick Tilsley.
Nick and Elsa began a relationship and married in late-2017 and co-owned the Bergman's Bar and Grill in Nottingham. During this time, Nick hardly ever mentioned his family and refused to let Elsa meet them.
Elsa traced husband Nick to Weatherfield in November 2018 after he pretended that his mother, Gail Rodwell, had fallen ill. When Nick found Elsa knocking at the door of 8 Coronation Street, he was able to quickly move her away, without his family learning the truth of his other life, by inviting her for a drink at Speed Daal.
While Elsa tried to prise answers out of Nick about why he had been acting so secretively, she was shocked when he told her that he wanted a divorce. Nick denied Elsa's suggestions that he had been seeing another woman, despite the fact he was currently harbouring feelings for his ex-wife Leanne Battersby, and explained that his reasons for wanting a divorce was because the pair had been arguing a lot recently and that he felt they had rushed into marriage too quickly.
Elsa decided to return to Nottingham alone, after Nick revealed that he planned to allow her to keep the entire share of their restaurant. However, she witnessed Nick's business partner Carla Connor rummaging through his car and confronted her - believing her to be having an affair with him. Carla was able to put Elsa straight but confronted Nick about his lies and gave him the ultimatum - to sell his share of Underworld to her or have his secret life exposed to Leanne and his family. Nick told Leanne and she kicked him out.
Elsa revealed to Carla that she had discovered Nick had swindled her out of £40,000, her inheritance money from her father, which piqued Carla's interest. Carla later met with Elsa and told her that Nick's share of Underworld technically belonged to her and together they teamed up against Nick.
Nick eventually agreed to pay Elsa's inheritance money back to her in exchange for Elsa to keep Leanne's name out of the divorce. She agreed and left Weatherfield but returned in the following January, as she had seen a social media post of Leanne flaunting a new necklace from Nick. She told him that the divorce was now on hold while she, her accountant and her solicitor investigated his finances.
It later emerged that Nick had swindled his grandmother Audrey Roberts out of her inheritance from Archie Shuttleworth, which meant that the money he paid Elsa off with was not his. However, it is not known whether Elsa knew about the fact and the divorce was finalised later in the year.
