Elizabeth Mickery (born "Elizabeth Mary Lane" on 17th June 1951 in Bradford) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in November 1975 as Sandra, a girl who was chatted up by Frank Bradley; and she returned to the programme in November 1979 as Dot, a friend of Vera Duckworth.

As an actress she also appeared in The Cuckoo Waltz, Emmerdale Farm, Brookside, Juliet Bravo, Tenko, Dogfood Dan and the Carmarthen Cowboy, Woof!, The Bill and The Beggar Bride.

Since 2000, she has concentrated on her writing career, usually under the name of Lizzie Mickery, and has written scripts for Byker Grove, The Bill, Heartbeat, Pie in the Sky and Sunburn but is perhaps best known for her adaptations of The Ice House, The Beggar Bride and The Inspector Lynley Mysteries. Her most successful script was her adaptation of Messiah in 2001 which was so well received that she wrote two original sequels. The conspiracy thriller The State Within, which she co-wrote with Daniel Percival was nominated for two Golden Globes in 2008.
