Elizabeth Kelly (born 29th May 1921 in Newcastle upon Tyne) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly as a pensioner spokeswoman in July 1969; and she returned to the programme as Edie Burgess, sister of Ernest Bishop, in August 1971.
Her other television credits include roles in City '68, The War of Darkie Pilbeam, A Family at War, Emmerdale Farm, When the Boat Comes In, Grange Hill, Covington Cross, Boon, Spender, EastEnders, The Bill, Heartbeat, Tilly Trotter, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and The Royal.
Film roles include an uncredited part in Magical Mystery Tour, The Savage Hunt, Without a Clue and 24 Hour Party People.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Home, Murder in the Cathedral, Box and Cox, Lethe or Aesop in the Shades, Gamma Gurtons Needle, Getting Married, A Man for All Seasons, Edwardian Music Hall and King Lear for the Ipswich Arts Theatre. Other works include Mother Courage and her Children, The Linden Tree, Green and Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens.
