Duggie Brown (born "Barry Douglas Dudley" on 7th August 1940 in Rotherham, died 16th August 2022 also in Rotherham) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- George Freeman, owner of The Hour Glass bar in February 1997
- Bernie Cooper, husband of Rita Sullivan's well-to-do friend Rula Romanoff in September 2004
- OAP Ted Spear, who in January 2022 passed away shortly after he was accidentally run over by Faye Windass.
The actor and comedian was the real-life brother of the late Coronation Street actress Lynne Perrie, (Ivy Tilsley/Brennan). For a long time, he toured the clubs with the Four Imps pop group, before eventually turning professional as a comedian, regularly appearing on TV in The Comedians and The Wheeltappers and Shunters Social Club.
His other television credits included roles in Crown Court, The House That Jack Built, Take My Wife..., Mersey Pirate, The Engima Files, The Glamour Girls, The Hard Word, Heartbeat, Brookside, The Final Cut, Doctors, EastEnders, Still Open All Hours and Emmerdale.
Film roles included Kes (alongside his sister, Lynne), For the Love of Ada, Between Two Women, The Jealous God, A Little in Tents, Funny Cow and The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry.
On stage, he appeared in productions of Dick Whittington and His Cat and Robin Hood Babes in the Wood.
