The Driver was trying to get to the entrance of the Victoria Court development site in order to deliver building materials in April 2008, however the entrance was blocked by Hayley Cropper's car which husband Roy deliberately had parked there to make a stand against Tony Gordon, the main investor, for having a part in the removal of a colony of bats that was roosting on the site.
By this time both the driver and Matt the building site foreman had lost their patience with Roy - even PC Birchall's involvement proved fruitless. Finally coming to an amicable agreement with Tony, Hayley's car was eventually moved.
