The Driver transported stock from 3 Coronation Street to the new Friends of Weatherfield Hospital Charity Shop in Nightingale Street in his van in January 1992. The stock had been housed at No.3 temporarily following the closure of the old shop at 2 Coronation Street.

Percy Sugden supervised the proceedings with his usual military-like efficiency, checking the items against an inventory he'd prepared himself as they were being loaded. Percy's officiousness got on the driver's nerves, with the man jokingly asking his assistant Harry if he'd brought his passport after Percy requested his signature. Once he was satisfied that everything had been loaded, Percy sent the van on its way, not realising that his inventory overlooked the box of books which Emily Bishop had left with Deirdre Barlow at No.1.
