Dorothy White (born "Dorothy Margaret Cruikshanks Lowndes" on 28th April 1935 in Dumbarton, Scotland; died 17th July 1998 in Andalucía, Spain) appeared on Coronation Street in May 1978 as Jack and Annie Walker's daughter, Joan Davies (the character had previously been played by June Barry intermittently between 1961 and 1964).
Her other credits included roles in The Dangerous Game, The Man Who Finally Died, The Men from Room 13, Leave It to Pastry, No Hiding Place, Z Cars, Dr. Finlay's Casebook, A Game of Murder, Sam, Hunter's Walk, The Paper Lads, Flesh and Blood and Angels, along with the films Touch and Go, Port Afrique, Get Carter and Family Life.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Henry VI, The Tinder Box and The Critic.
