Dorin Pop is the son of Alina Pop and Tyrone Dobbs, born in 2022.
Biography[]
Alina Pop and Tyrone Dobbs had a relationship in 2021, but Alina broke up with Tyrone and moved back to her home country of Romania that September without telling him she was pregnant with his child. Soon afterwards, she moved back to England to escape human traffickers, and settled in Hastings where Dorin was born.
Tyrone remained oblivious to his son's existence until August 2024, when Alina returned to Weatherfield to testify in court against her traffickers. Tyrone's wife Fiz had bumped into Alina and seen her with her son, and let Tyrone know it could be his. After Alina's taxi was intercepted by Tyrone's mother Cassie, Alina was forced to let Tyrone meet his son.
Alina decided to let Dorin get to know his dad, to the chagrin of Fiz. However when Alina caught Tyrone attempting to get a DNA sample from Dorin, Alina was adamant he wouldn't see Dorin again, until Fiz pleaded his case to her. Tyrone's daughter Ruby quickly connected with her new brother while his stepdaughter Hope was unimpressed. Soon afterwards, Alina started to receive threats from the traffickers to drop her testimony, and was forced to go into hiding, leaving Dorin in Tyrone's care for a few weeks. Once these issues were resolved however, Alina took Dorin to live with her in Romania, severing contact with Tyrone in the process, as he had attempted to hide Alina's passport to prevent Dorin from being taken out of the country.
Tyrone was surprised to see Dorin once again when, in April of the following year, it transpired that Alina had all but lost her house due to a catastrophic flood and atop, was struggling to cope with looking after her ailing mother. One of her friends who flew over to the UK dropped Dorin off at No.9, with Tyrone and Fiz agreeing that Dorin should stay in their care for the foreseeable future.
