Doreen June Mantle (born 22nd June 1926 in Johannesburg, South Africa; died 9th August 2023 in Haringey, London) appeared in Coronation Street between November 2010 and January 2011 as Joy Fishwick, mother of Colin Fishwick.
Best remembered in her role as Jean Warboys in the BBC sitcom One Foot in the Grave in stints between 1990 and 2000, her other television credits included roles in Emergency-Ward 10, Love Story, Special Branch, Crown Court, Marked Personal, The Duchess of Duke Street, Eleanor Marx, Charlie, Casualty, Stanley and the Women, Mr. Wakefield's Crusade, Sam Saturday, The Secret Agent, Nice Town, The Wild House, Doctors, Look and Read, Holby City, Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky, Jam & Jerusalem, The Sarah Jane Adventures, The Mimic, Lewis and Father Brown.
Film roles included Privilege, Frenzy, Black Jack, The French Lieutenant's Woman, Yentl, Mountains of the Moon, The Turn of the Screw, A Man You Don't Meet Every Day, In Love and War, So This Is Romance?, Suzie Gold, Scoop, Late Bloomers, The Owner and 55 Steps.
