The Doctor worked at Weatherfield General and in August 2019 treated a dying John Brooker who at that time Emma believed was her natural father, not knowing that it was in fact Steve McDonald.
John had terminal stomach cancer which he had kept to himself due to his dislike of doctors and which had been diagnosed too late in the day for any viable action to be taken. The doctor explained to Emma, who was accompanied by a supportive Maria Connor, that the cancer had spread to his liver, that no transplant would be successful and that test results had shown a further complication of a blockage. John died later that same day.
In May 2021, the doctor was one of several medical staff who treated Nina Lucas and Seb Franklin at Weatherfield General after they were attacked by a drunken gang led by Corey Brent. As Abi Franklin stood over her son's bedside with him connected to a range of instruments, she told her that Seb had been lucid and conscious immediately after the attack as he had managed to call an ambulance using Nina's phone but he had received a significant number of blows to the head and one matter was out of place that they were keeping an eye on. With youth on his side, there was a cause for optimism and hope, but sedation was necessary at that time to ease swelling on the brain.
The next day, she had to report to Abi that the CT scan showed some worrying results and that they would be carrying out some brain stem tests on the boy. Promising to get her religious parents to say a prayer for Seb on Abi's behalf, she later on took him for his tests, reporting later on that there had been a response to one of them. Nevertheless, they didn't know the full extent of the damage and a reduction in the amount of sedation hadn't conclusively shown that he was able to breathe on his own. The brain stem tests were repeated but this time the news was devastating: Seb failed the tests, no messages were being sent by his brain to his body, his heart had stopped working and he had died.
In October 2021, the doctor treated Natasha Blakeman after she had been shot by Harvey Gaskell who mistook her for Leanne Battersby. Natasha was operated on at the hospital to repair damage to her liver caused by the bullet, but time was still needed to see how successful their efforts had been and they could only hope for the best. Natasha seemed better after she came round from sedation, but another operation was needed to determine the cause of her falling blood pressure. The doctor later broke the news to Natasha's son Sam and his father Nick Tilsley that they couldn't stop the bleeding, and Natasha that had died.
In August 2023, Sarah Barlow was the patient when, pregnant with a baby fathered by Damon Hay, she began to suffer pains soon after a row with cuckolded husband Adam. She took herself off to the hospital in a taxi where a midwife conducted an initial scan and alarmed, called in the doctor. She confirmed the suspected prognosis and had to break the news to Sarah that she'd lost the baby.
