Doctor (Alexandra Mathie)

The Doctor at Weatherfield General treated Leanne Battersby after she was knocked unconscious in a raid on the Rovers Return Inn by two Villains sent by Jez Quigley on the night of Coronation Street's Millennium party in January 2000. She told panicking parents that she was sending Leanne for a CT scan to see if there was any skull fracture and to check for contusion and internal bleeding. She was soon able to report back that her patient had regained consciousness with the scan showing no adverse effects, but she was keeping her for a day or two to keep an eye on her concussion. Les Battersby demanded nothing but the best for his daughter.

She was on duty again in the cardiac unit when Michael Rodwell was admitted in June 2015 following a collapse due to his hereditary heart condition. Trying to establish a reason for this occurrence, she asked an accompanying Eileen Grimshaw if Michael had been doing anything strenuous before his collapse. Eileen felt obligated to admit that they were being intimate at the time. Sensing Eileen's awkwardness, the doctor reassured her that any information given would be treated in the strictest confidence. Michael was once again admitted to the hospital in March 2016 after he fell down the stairs of Jason's Construction clutching his chest; following an altercation with builder Pat Phelan. Diagnosed with a twisted ankle and mild concussion, Michael once again suffered with pains when Phelan showed up with the Grimshaws at his hospital bedside. The doctor explained that Michael's chest pains were linked to stress and reminded Michael and his visitors of this fact.

In March 2017 Ken Barlow was her patient. He had been pushed downstairs by a mysterious assailant - later revealed to be his son Daniel Osbourne - and suffered concussion and a punctured lung. The doctor told his waiting family that they were keeping him sedated while they awaited his scan results but while waiting for a second opinion she could state categorically that Ken hadn't suffered a second stroke following on from the one that had occurred the previous October. Behind their backs, the doctor rang Weatherfield police to report that there were marks on Ken's arm which indicated a struggle and a lesion on his head which was consistent with him being struck with a blunt instrument of some kind.

Ken recovered slowly and the following month the doctor was able to tell her patient that he was in good shape for his age and although he still couldn't remember his attack, there didn't appear to be any impairment to his cognitive functions and she felt he was ready to go home. Afraid of his family, Ken was put up by Roy Cropper in his flat.

In the October, Chesney Brown was her patient. Three months before he had been stabbed with a broken wine bottle by drug dealer Rich Collis when he walked into an altercation between him and Robert Preston in Nick's Bistro. Although he apparently recovered physically, the incident badly affected his mental health but was hospitalised again after a fragment of glass left over in his body became infectious. Whilst in hospital, the news reached Chesney that Katy Armstrong, his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son Joseph Brown, had been killed in a car crash in Portugal where they were now living. Desperate to get to his grieving child, Chesney discharged himself against the stern orders of the doctor and flew out to collect his son.

In May 2018, Robert himself was the doctor's patient when he collapsed with a heart attack brought on by steroids which he had taken to overcome stress. Not knowing this, the doctor questioned Robert and his fiancée Michelle Connor if they knew of anything which could have been a contributing factor. Robert confessed to having palpitations in his intense exercise regime and the doctor heard that until a month before he had been using the steroids. Telling him that they weakened the heart, she made a note of the admission and set up tests to see if any damage had been done.

Although the character had an RP accent in her 2000 appearance, in subsequent episodes she carried a light Scottish accent.
