Debbie Arnold (born "Jeannette Debbie Wendorff" on 14th June 1955 in Sunderland) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly between September 1981 and January 1982 as Sylvie Hicks, the secretary/girlfriend of Frankie Baldwin; and she returned to the programme in November 2012 as Carole Evans, landlady of the Weatherfield Arms.
She made her television debut in 1976 in Who Do You Do as an impressionist, a talent she inherited from her father, Eddie.
Her other television credits include roles in Going Out, Bootle Saddles, Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: The Body in the Library, The Funny Side, Minder, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Real Women, Holby City, Footballers Wive$: Extra Time, Doctors and Emigracja XD, along with the regular role of April Branning in EastEnders from 1995 to 1996.
On stage, she appeared in productions of Women Behind Bars, The Sleeping Prince and Last of the Red Hot Lovers.
She was married to the late actor John Challis between 1981 and 1985, who himself appeared on Coronation Street in two roles.
