David Proud (born 14th March 1983) became a script writer on Coronation Street in May 2021 and has since contributed 44 episodes.
He has also written for Doctors and short films such as Wheels of Fortune, The One That Got Away, Awkward Turtle, The Alarm, Sympathy for the Lemon, Magic Hour 4 and Barista.
An actor as well, he has also appeared in Desperados, the regular role of Adam Best in EastEnders, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, No Fixed Abode, The Best of Men, Siblings, No Offence, Doctors and Marcella along with the films Special People, The Hunger House, The Magic Hour, N.F.A. and iWitness in which he appeared as a non-disabled character despite being a wheelchair user, having been born with spina bifida. He is a campaigner for people with disabilities and has won several awards for his work.
