David Monteath (born 15th January 1965 in Glasgow) appeared on Coronation Street between April and May 1986 as Gary Knox, a friend of Susan Barlow. He was a guest at her 21st birthday party and in attendance at her wedding to Mike Baldwin.
He trained at the Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art from 1987 to 1989.
Appearing mainly uncredited in various TV productions in his teens, he first appeared on-screen in a play for Scottish Television, aged just three months. After spending many years with the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow in both rep seasons and on tour, he has played virtually every theatre in Scotland, toured the UK extensively and played the lead role of the detective in the West End production of Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap.
His other on-screen credits include roles in Dramarama, Theatre Night, Birdsong and Labyrinth, but best known nowadays for his voice-over work, having been involved in thousands of TV and radio commercials and corporate narrations.
