David Hobbs appeared in Coronation Street in February 1994 as Oakhill Grammar School headteacher Mr Sammells.
His other roles include parts in Johnny Jarvis, Between The Lines, Minder, The Bill, Peak Practice and the films Another Year and The Holding.
He is in a long-term relationship with Eileen Davies.
