David William Ellison (born 1939 in Stalybridge; died 10th June 2010 in Beer, Devon) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in December 1967 as the First Flying Horse Man; and he returned to the programme in both March 1992 and January 1994 as Lord Walter Morgan, chairman of Bettabuy.

Between these two roles, he also appeared in Jury Duty, an episode of the Street spin-off The Brothers McGregor, transmitted in February 1987.

His other credits included The Wednesday Play, The Gold Robbers, Public Eye, Space: 1999, The Onedin Line, The Sweeney, The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, All Creatures Great and Small, The Darling Buds of May, London's Burning, The Bill and Heartbeat. He remains best remembered for playing Sergeant Joe Beck in eighty-seven episodes of Juliet Bravo from 1980 to 1985.

On stage, he appeared in Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Richard II, Henry VI, Henry V, Henry VI and Richard III. Other works include The Pope's Wedding and Three Sisters.
