Dave King (born "David Albert Kingshott" on 23rd June 1929 in Twickenham, died 15th April 2002 in London) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in March 1978 as sleazy businessman Bernard Lane; and he returned to the programme between December 1994 and January 1995 as Clifford Duckworth, brother of Jack Duckworth.

Upon leaving school at the age of twelve, King joined Morton Fraser's Harmonica Gang in his teenage years before National Service in the RAF. He returned to variety performance after being demobbed, becoming a solo act comedy impressionist in 1952 and had a regular weekly radio show. In the mid 1950s, he had four UK hit singles including the No.5 hit Memories Are Made of This.

His television credits included roles in Dave's Kingdom, Pennies from Heaven, Round and Round, a 1985 adaptation of Bleak House, Breaking Up, Perfect Scoundrels and Heartbeat.

Film roles included The Road to Hong Kong, Strange Bedfellows, Up the Chastity Belt, The Golden Lady and The Long Good Friday as Parky, a corrupt policeman.

On stage, he appeared in productions of The Talk of the Town, Mr Rhodes, The Gimmick, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Lord Arthur Savile's Crime, Forget-Me-Not Lane, Who Goes Bare?, American Buffalo, The Long Voyage Home, Taking Steps and Gaslight.
