Darren Barlow was the son of David and Irma Barlow who was born in Australia on 20th November 1968 after his parents had moved there earlier in the year when David wanted to further his sporting career and successfully applied for a position on a football team.
In April 1970, Darren and his parents were involved in a car crash. David was killed instantly and Darren died the next day. However, Irma survived and returned to Weatherfield shortly after the crash.
- The character of Darren was born after his parents' departure from Weatherfield and therefore only seen on on-set photographs.
