He started his professional acting career at the age of fourteen and went on to receive private tuition at LAMDA outside of school and gained a teaching qualification in drama. In 1996 he moved to London and completed a two year post graduate musical theatre course at the Redroofs Theatre School and was permitted to work during this time in order to pay off fees.
With a fairly extensive CV, his credits on television include roles in Merlin, Oliver Twist, Ed Stone is Dead, Born and Bred, Emmerdale, The Bill, Casualty, Waterloo Road, Doctors, Holby City, Midsomer Murders and WPC 56. On the big screen he has appeared in Monk Dawson, Shakespeare in Love, Another Life, The Hours, Release, Little Deaths, Cal and Admiral. On stage, he has appeared in the Royal Shakespeare Company productions of Lord of the Flies, As You Like It, Titus Andronicus and The Tamer Tamed.
