Coral Atkins played club hostess Margot on Coronation Street in December 1966. Her other credits include The Avengers, The Sweeney and Emmerdale but she remains best-known for her role as Sheila Ashton in the highly successful Granada series A Family At War (created by John Finch) and her work with children. Her life story, Seeing Red, was turned into a television drama in 2000, and Coral was played by former Street actress Sarah Lancashire.
