Colson Smith (born 13th August 1998 in Dorchester, Dorset) joined the current cast of Coronation Street as Craig Tinker in August 2011. Originally he was only drafted into the show for as a one-off alongside on-screen mother Beth Tinker (Lisa George), however due to popular feedback with her character the pair of them were promoted to regular members of the cast.
Moving to Yorkshire at the age of five so he could be nearer his beloved Elland Road and Leeds United, he attended Castleford High School and is currently juggling working on Coronation Street with a full-time course at Pontefract New College. Colson got his break after attending classes run by Northern Film and Drama in 2009.
He has also made appearances in the Platform 2C series as well as a role in the 2012 short film Reverie.
When not at work or college, Colson can be found following Leeds United and playing cricket for Castleford.
