Claire Jane Sweeney (born 17th April 1971 in Liverpool) has appeared in Coronation Street as Cassie Plummer, the estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer since June 2023.
She is best known for portraying the role of Lindsey Corkhill in the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside between 1991 and 2003. Her other onscreen credits include Clocking Off, Merseybeat, Candy Cabs, Holby City, Benidorm, Doctors and Scarborough.
On stage she has appeared in productions of Chicago, Fosse, Snow White, Aladdin, Guys and Dolls, Sleeping Beauty, Tell Me on a Sunday, Legally Blonde, Educating Rita, White Christmas and Hairspray.
