Ciaran Joseph Griffiths (born 3rd March 1983 in Manchester) appeared on Coronation Street in two roles: firstly in October 2000 as Dean Sykes, the younger brother of Linda Sykes/Baldwin. Following an unsuccessful armed robbery attempt at Freshco supermarket alongside accomplice Lenny Larkin, he was fatally shot by police markswoman Emma Taylor; and he returned to the programme intermittently between December 2022 and October 2024 as Damon Hay, father of Jacob.
While attending St Mary's RC High School in Astley, he landed his first acting role in Children's Ward at the age of thirteen. Subsequent television credits include roles in Knight School, City Central, the regular role of PC/DC Gary Best in The Bill, Shameless, Waterloo Road, Atlantis, The Mill, Staff Room, EastEnders, Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators, The Bay, Ghost Seekers and Riptide.
Film roles include There's Only One Jimmy Grimble, Act of Grave, Clubbed, Dead Cert, Big Fat Gypsy Gangster and Billy.
