Christopher Umfreville Wilkinson (born 4th May 1941 in Ipswich, died 11th January 2018 in Huddersfield) appeared on Coronation Street in three roles:
- Basil Higson of Weatherfield Travel, who donated the prize of a Rhine cruise for the Weatherfield Recorder's bingo competition in October 1986
- Chartered surveyor and former councillor, Clive Wallace, with whom Deirdre Barlow sought employment in May 1991
- Compensation claim specialist, Dr Nicholls, representing Les Battersby in December 1998.
His other credits included roles in The Famous Five, The Strange Affair of Adelaide Harris, Crown Court, The Beiderbecke Tapes, Emmerdale, Cardiac Arrest, Hetty Wainthropp Investigates, Heartbeat and Jane Eyre, along with the 2010 comedy drama film Dead Frequency.
Touring extensively with the RSC, he also appeared in stage productions including The Shaming of Bright Millar, 84 Charing Cross Road, The Seagull, Death of a Salesman, An Inspector Calls, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Great Expectations, The Ghost Train, Of Mice and Men, The Taming of the Shrew, Blithe Spirit, Jumpers, Twenty:20, The Kingfisher, Sugar Daddies, Bedroom Farce and Life Cycle.
He was twice-nominated for the Manchester Evening News Best Actor Award.
