Christopher Reason was a storyliner (then termed a "story associate") for 78 episodes of Coronation Street in two stints from December 1993 to June 1994.
He became a professional writer in 1988 after several years as a musical director for theatre companies. The main body of his early work was in the form of radio drama for which he won a BAFTA and two Sony awards although he has continued to write for the medium. His contributions include A Meeting of Minds, The News of the World, The Girl of my Best Friend, A Box of Chocolates, Unreasonable Behaviour, The Pirates are Coming, The Final Furlong, A Second to Midnight, The Cooking Group, Every Child Matters (which starred Sarah Lancashire), Special Measures, The Confessions of Caminada, Inappropriate Relationships and over fifty episodes of the BBC radio soap Citizens.
Coronation Street was his first television work but he has gone on to provide scripts for Casualty, Albion Hospital, You’ve Never Had it so Good, The Sanctuary, The Bill, and over 200 episodes of EastEnders.
