Charlotte "Charlie" Wood is the ex-wife of Tim Metcalfe.
Working as an air hostess based at Manchester Airport, Charlie met Tim in 2004 when he travelled to Las Vegas for a friend's stag party. The pair engaged in a holiday romance, which included them getting married in what Tim believed to be a fake ceremony, but they lost contact when the holiday was over. Years later in December 2019, Tim was horrified to discover that Vegas weddings were legally binding when his father Geoff Metcalfe married Yasmeen Nazir - and feared the revelation that he was now a bigamist - having subsequently married Sally Webster.
To cover his tracks, Tim found Charlie's profile on social media, having remembered that she lived "Openshaw way", went with Steve McDonald and Kevin Webster to the Rustic Bar in Manchester's Northern Quarter where she worked, and suggested that they file for divorce. Charlie was understanding, but explained that Tim would have to cover the legal fees as she was strapped for cash - to which he agreed. Tim later contacted solicitor Imran Habeeb and began filing for divorce in order to remarry Sally, however Imran expressed concern that the divorce proceedings could expose his bigamy to the authorities.
